HIDs
I want to get some HIDs. I did some researching and came across these http://www.pilothid.com/9006.html I have a 2000 Jimmy so this kit should work. Do you guys suggest getting a relay kit? I heard my current wires may not be able to handle the power these need. Can anyone point me in the right direction for the relay kit? what does it actually do? go straight to my battery?

I don't recommend putting HID lights into the factory reflector housings. You need to use projectors.

why isnt that a good idea kross? and get a relay kit, theres been many horror stories about running HIDs through your stock headlight harness and problems with it buring, id rather be safe than sorry thats what i did. i just bought a relay kit off ebay for about 20 bucks.

Definitelt get a relay harness. Not too expensive and it will save you repair costs from frying something in the wiring. Also, the stock reflector housing, I woulodn't recommend it (escpecially plastic lol) because you will blind people coming at you literally. What the realy harness does is takes the juice to run the lights straight from the battery and not through the stock wiring which is a lot better from my understanding as it was told to me when I installed mine a few weeks ago. I paid like 30 bucks on ebay shipped for my harness. The HID's were 60 shipped and the projectors (although yours will be very different blazer/jimmy) were 150 shipped.

well since hids operate on only 35 watts and halgon, what you have now runs on 50 watts, so you should be fine, thats how mine are and i have 6000k and they are mostly the same
there are 2 myths about these they run hotter and take more power, which are comptly quiet the oppsite, they run cooler and i can testify to that since i havend burned my self leaning on the housing like i did with my old lights and when i turn them on they dont make everything else dim *i believe* |

yes they run on 35 watts but the initial time where the ballast ignites the bulb, draws more power so thats the time when your harness can get damaged. and it all depends on how good your factory wiring is, some cars are fine, id rather just be on the safe side

licker if they come on during startup casue they dont get enough power, they are idk safewired or something so they dont try to take to much power, but if my truck is running and i turn them on they start up fine

just get an aftermarket relay. this ones great and they overnight it to you for 15$. also high quality.

I too would suggest the relay. I bought one of the cheap sets from ebay (~$75 shipped) and, at first, had a few problems with the drivers side light not turning on correctly. As soon as I installed the relay, the problem went away. It's never happened since... oh and, mine's a '98
