Infinity kappas

I believe i've asked this in the past, but I need to know, I have infinity kappas all around in my vehicle running off an Alpine 9852, no amp, and for those of you that have Alpine decks they usually max @ volume 35, with bass set to +4, after 20+ volume the speakers sound TERRIBLE and distort horribly, all i've heard about infinity kappas is how nice they are, yet mine sound terrible, here's my main question, would a proper amp completely solve this problem and make these speakers sound 300-400% better than they do right now? I mean they sound like a stock kia stereo...

Thanks

*EDIT*

6.5' in the front doors
6x8' in the rear deck

yhey will sound a million times better. If you set your gains correctly, you wont have any distortion, nice low end and real crisp highs. The bad news, there isnt much change from the Kappa's from the reference, just increased power handling.

Thank you, i'll definately have to amp them, i'm just sick of getting into a car with so called nice speakers and having them sound like crap, if you have any spare time do you think you could find me a nice amp under 200$ from www.onlinecarstereo.com? If not it's cool, it's just nice getting recommendations from people who know what they're talking about

Man, i wish i knew the answer to that hillbilly, I believe they're 2 ohm, I bought them at Cartoys a while back, I thought all kappas were 2ohm but I could be wrong, i'm pretty sure these are them..

i thought so, but i couldnt remember to be sure. i would shoot for about 90 watts per channel with those speakers. they tend to do better with a little more power.
