Question Modify or remove dome light timer?

For a 1997 Chevy Blazer 2-door 2-WD 4.3 liter v6 - Is it possible to modify or remove the dome light timer? Here's what I don't like:

(1) - I do NOT want the interior light to stay "ON" at all after I exit the vehicle. Once I have exited the vehicle I see no reason for the light to remain "ON" for 15 seconds, this is very frustrating, I don't like it at all.
(2) - I do NOT want the interior light to turn "ON" when a criminal attempts to open my locked door while it's parked in street parking - (otherwise they can more easily see what is inside). I don't normally leave anything of value in my truck, but just in case I accidentally did leave something on the seat, or floor boards while going into another store (at night), I don't want a parking lot thief to be able to see what items might be in my truck.
(3) - I DO still want the option of me turning "ON" the interior lights, but ONLY when I want to turn them "ON". And when I turn them "OFF" I want them to stay "OFF" until I decide to turn them "ON".

So, how do I modify or remove the interior light timer?
