new sub box
my sub box has about had it.... i wish i would of kept all of mine and not sold them but this box leaks all over the place..its got homemade ports and its really hurting my subs..i feel like its draining the life out of them
......i want to make my own box to fit my jl"s in it so what would i need to build this box and how do i follow "specs" for both the blazer cargo space and the jl"s "specs" for the box? thanks[/align]
get yourself a box calculator program like winIsd or bass box pro, or go to rockfordfosgate.com or reaudio.com and use their box maker. Then put in the specs for the JL subs, including recommended airspace, thenadjust to fit in your truck
thank you i really appreciate it il let you kno how it comes out...again thanks.......but does it tell me what kind of wood to use? aint it mdf or sumthing? i want 2 build it myslef

I know someone who custom makes speaker boxes!! if your interested, hes on long island though... www.longislandcustoms.com ask for Jesse...
3/4" MDF is what you should use. Birch actually has better acoustical properties but costs around $40-50 a sheet, and can be more difficult to work with...
This is a Decent box calculator for beginners. WinISD and Bass Box Pro are much better but they can be very confusing if you are not educated on speaker parameters and box building...
