No sound at all one front side
 

I just replaced the rear speakers in my '95 4-door Blazer after discovering the reason one wasn't making any sound was that it was blown. This got me to wondering if the one on the front driver's side was blown as well, since it's making no sound either. Unfortunately, this ran into another problem: What about the ones on the top of the dash? If one speaker is blown, the other one should still make noise...but setting the stereo to fader full front and balance full left results in no sound at all.

if thats the case, take the cover off and make sure your truck even has dash speakers. some blazers/jimmys didn't come with dash speakers which would explain why you have no sound

If your Blazer has dash speakers and they are the factory originals, they may both need to be replaced. It may also be a wiring problem up front. You can always take both of the speakers out and hook them up in the back to see if sound comes out.

my favorite is to just take a regular AA battery and connect to it the positive and negative of the speaker. It will burp if it still works...

don't hold the wire to the battery, just touch it momentarily and it will burp a little. if you plug it in a wall socket (which i've done) you will destroy the speaker. AC power switches too much and will push/pull your speakers and demolish them quickly.

I'd be careful even with a AA. Just touch it for a moment.

I discovered my speaker had been blown by using a DMM.

Haven't checked the dash yet. Had to take a trip yesterday, too cold out there now. I'll look this afternoon.

well im talking about using an old speaker so screw holding it to long :D

haha... my buddy's old bmw speakers were beat to heck. we took a bigger 9 volt battery and plugged it in and the speaker burped up and stayed up, then reverse and it burped down... it was fun
