i was trying to remember the difference between the colors. i know they have a yellow, red and blue cant cant remember what each one is designed for

Yellow top:
These batteries are dual purpose. They are designed for engine start and deep-cycle applications for use in vehicles with large accessory loads. Side and clamp-on top post.

Blue top:
These batteries are designed for engine starting applications. They are NOT recommended or warranted for use in deep cycle applications. Screw-on and clamp-on top post.

Red Top:
These batteries are designed for engine starting applications. They are NOT recommended or warranted for use in deep-cycle applications. Side post and clamp-on top post.

thanks, i thought the yellow top was the most common, thats probably what i will be running so i wanted to make sure

Its best to go with a Yellow top and upgrade your big three to a lower wire gauge

i run a yellow top under the hood on my truck and ive had no problems.....the blue tops are more marine batteries anyway so i wouldnt go with them.

actually the blue top IS a deep cyle battery. Per the website;

"Deep cycling and cranking power all packed into one battery. "
