radio swap help
ok I'm doing a radio swap but it just hit me that GM has thier radio's hooked up with the security systems. Is this going to cause a problem with my ignition system when I put in the new head Unit????
|
I highly doubt it. My 2001 Jimmy, my moms 1999 Blazer and my brothers 2005 Trailblazer all had zero issues with swapping the radio. The only difference was with my brothers truck as it had on star so he had to buy the special adapter to retain his warning chimes and stuff like that.

I don't have a GM radio in the car anymore. No issues!
|
Same here, But if you have on star (which I did) it won't work anymore.

I had a problem with my viper system after stereo install which has been removed
|
Ok Thanks for all the replies.

Interesting. I am swapping radios, any one have wiring diagram of factory wiring?
|
If you're looking for the wiring diagram so you can cut and splice wires, please don't. Just go to walmart and get a wiring harness for it. It will save time and let you work outside of the tight spaces those wires are shoved into. However, this will give you the diagram for any year model 2001 Chevrolet S10 Blazer Car Radio Stereo Wiring Diagram

I already bought one of them. Already wired and ready to install. Thanks.
