Default Replacing Factory Radio in the UK

Hello,

I'm trying to get a new aftermaket double din Sony stereo in my 2001 Blazer LT (right hand drive).

A mate who fits car stereo found the new Sony had a few mm of space either side.

If there a different panel or kit i would need to buy to help it to fit better?

I know the connections are different, but I'm sure they are easy to find.

Many thanks

BA

PS
I'm in the UK

The 1st gen had the same problem.
I made up an insert and spacer in order for a standard radio to fit.
Not sure about the 2nd gen you have. Should have more "depth" for a radio set. But to replace the U.S. size radios most of the time you have to build something to properly fit the insert.

There are a few companies that make kits to fit aftermarket radios into various vehicles. Metra, Scosche, etc. I'm not sure what availability is in the UK, but any store that sells automotive electronics will likely carry them, and you should also be able to order them online.
