running wires
I am wiring my 97 blazer for an amp and two subs, I figured out where to run the power wire through the firewall but I need help as far as where to hide the wires when running it to the back of the vehicle.
Thanks |

I ran my wires through the firewall, underneath the interior. We endded up removing the seat to run the wires underneath the carpet and cut a little slit for the wire to run through to the rear and cut out a section of carpet so we could clear the wire without cutting or mutilating the wire and conncected the box to a hard point on the frame, i'll post some pics later =) :icon_speaker1::icon_speaker1:
Sorry to take another post |
thanks
I appreciate the help and I am probably going to do it the way you said to. Thanks

Anytime, it wasn't too hard to do and i think the hardest part of it was taking out the bench seat in the back and getting it through under the carpet and putting the seat back in so the carpet wouldn't look munipilated and such

before i reran all my wiring, i ran the power down the driver side and the RCA's down the right. i just pushed them under all the panels
now, i have everything wired up a lot better http://i832.photobucket.com/albums/z...h_DSCN0667.jpg |
tweeters
ok so I got my amp and subs hooked up. Now I need to wire my tweeters to the amp. I bridged my subs and tried to do the same with the tweeters and wire them to the other neg and pos but they didn't work. so i put them on the same pos and neg as my subs and they worked for about 2 mins and then I ended up blowing them. how can I wire them to the amp without blowing them?

Why do you have tweeters?
you can't wire subs and tweeters to the same amp unless you have a 3 or 4 channel. subs play 120hz and down (i don't suggest tuning that high personally). tweeters play from about 4000hz and up. so if you try and force a tweeter to play 120hz and lower it'll blow. if you buy a 4 channel amp you can run the subs off the rear channels and the tweeters off the front. |
