Running Wires through Door Boot
Trying to install some components in 99 blazer 4 door. Have installed
the crossovers in the doors and want to use the stock tweeter locations in the dash but cant get the speaker wire through the door boot on the driver side. Has anyone done this? is it even possible? seems like mission impossible to me. Help! |
It is possible, They got the other wires to go through there :)
Just gotta keep at it and dont give up. |
Haven't done it in a long time, but yes, it is possible. I would, however, suggest not placing crossovers in doors where they can get wet and banged around when closing the doors.

A small smooth cable such as a old speedometer cable makes a good fish tool to go thu boots and tight spots

thanks for the replies.
OK I'll have give it another try with a cable or something as suggested. Haven't done it in a long time, but yes, it is possible. I'm not too crazy about having the x-overs in the doors either but the only other place I can think of would be under the tweeters in the dash and they would have to just lay there as there's nothing to screw them to. |

Double sided tape works wonders in a spot like that.

Ok I gave it another shot after your inspiring replies and yep its doable. Pass
side isn't bad but driver side is a bit of a pain in the ass. The trick is to put one finger in on the door boot side and fish another finger over the emergency brake mounting plate and you'll find lots of room, you can't see it but there is space. Taped the speaker wire to an extra long plastic tie and fished her through. Put one x-over in pass side dash speaker(lots of room to the left) and the other went behind the rear wiper switch. I used double sided tape(Great Idea Guys) to mount them both. Thanks. |
Glad you got it worked out.
