why on earth would you turn your highs down all the way, and then you expect them to play when you turn them up??? wont hurt anything to turn it up a little more than that. here's a thought, turn the gain down a smidge. then fix the settings on your HU, such as mids, highs and lows.

Well with these alpines if I put them up any more then that they are very high, and if I put them in the + zone they start to distort so I have to keep the low.

which settings do you have on your deck, loudness? equalizer, sub control? any sound focusing enhancements?........for that matter, what deck is it?

whats the preout voltage?
