Stereo - Error Code E10

Hi - I've got a '99 UK Blazer, with the standard Stereo (CD / Tape / Radio)

I'm trying to use a Cassette to MP3 adaptor (one of these cassette shaped devices with an audio input lead on to plug into your MP3 player) - but when I put it in the stereo it works for about 5 seconds and then ejects with error E10 on the display.

The manual sayssomething about an 'automatic broken tape sensor' and that if you're using a cleaining tape it may get ejected every few seconds.

Anyone know if this is what E10 means?

If so - how does it sense the tape is broken - is it something to do with the tension on the spindles? (I can hear them spinning around)

I'd really like to find a way to get this working so I can play stuff from my MP3 player....

Any suggestions / ideas welcome..

Cheers,

Paul

I've got the same car with the same problem, but have been using the same type of mini-jack adapter for over a year now..
About 6 months ago it started giving me the 'cln' message every time I put the tape in, and every time the stereo is switched-on.
I've seen somewhere that you can reset this message, I guess this doesn't help the eject problem if that message is't coming up!
Mine randomly did it one day, and I didn't see the error, thinking it was some kind f electrical short, scared me a bit! Then it started happening more frequently, until today it just started doing it every 10 seconds.
I'd put a different stereo in if I knew what kind of crazy wiring I'll find when I take the dash off!
Good luck mate.
