unless you have a control on your hu specificaly for subs(then amp dosen't control volume), and those remotes just control the gain btw(at least my old one did),\, when i finnaly learned that it was gain not volume, i corrected people all the time lol

the external bass **** for amps control the bass boost, not the gain.

Thats not totally correct. I was told by Jason Paul (Cadence rep./ guru) that some of thier amps actually have an external gain control ***.... I believe it was a select few of the 2 or 4 channel amps.

how exactly do you go about measuring your output? is there a certain tool you use? whats it called?

I think he means spl... Usually people use the termlab (sp?) meter...

Its not allabout the subs its about the box aswell. I've seen a single 10 hit high db's. I still need to get mine tested but i think i might be able to give pat a run for his money with his treo. This thing is just stupidly loud.
