Will my system be any louder if I get a more powerful sub?
Or get a battery that's got side posts and top posts (assuming they fit in the Blazer) and then you only need to worry about the ground wires, as you can just hook the stereo to the top post (that's the way I did it in my old Mazda, Lumina, and S10)
I got a different battery post with tons of extra space on it.
As for the big three I still plan on "wasting" the money for the wires...5 or 10dollars? And the effort, shouldn't be too bad, I like working on my car.

That is definitely true, lol...
Hopefully the 900 or so CCA battery I plan on replacing the stocker with still fits...

When I had my sound system I also had a 10" sub and I wanted it to be louder but do to the room on my vehicle at that time I though I would buy a better 10" sub. The only difference that I had was that I could turn it up louder with out getting more distortion and bad rattlebut it really was not worth the money to me. Don't know if this helps but I tried
mkay, well if the upgrades that cheap.....
you already have the wiring I take it, fuses, batt. connects. and so forth?
I do not have the big 3 done in my truck yet and I'm running around 950rms at the moment and I think my lights dimmed more with my old (smaller) alpine. alpine really dosent make an effecient amp in my experience, i think i remember reading it was around 60%.
while my sundowns rediculous at closer to 80%@2ohm

I like my alpine, every other component of my system is alpine, soI just followed suit. I don't really notice any inefficiencies with this power level, so I'm happy with it!
