Wired for a trailer?

I was curious if all blazers are hardwired for towing a utility trailer.. I don't have a hitch, but I am going to get one installed this week to pull this little trailer for work. I was wondering if I have to get it wired for the trailer or should I just have to plug it in? Any help is appreciated.

RE: Wired for a trailer?

I know on my '00 I had the wires up under theLR of the truck. I had to wire in a connector, but that was just putting 2 wires together (3 times of course with putting one wire to ground). I did wire mine to a 7 pin round, so I had 6 pairs to put together. Mine did come with a hitch though so I am not sure if all of them have a harness back there or not. Just take a look back there to be sure. And if yours have the wires back there, the harness is labeled so it is reallya no brainer there!!

Just taped next to a wire harness in/ near the frame rail on the left. There is no connector, there are just wire ends, where you attach a connector manually, either with solder or butt connectors.

On the 2dr they are on the passenger side by the rear frame crossmember, on my 4dr it is on the driver side by the bumper rear crossmember in the frame rail all bundled and taped depending on the package you could have either 6 wires or 8 wires, the 8 wires were for the factory installed tow package with trailer brakes...although the 6 wire setup has wires for electric brakes but not like the 8 wire system...there is no connector you have to buy one for your trailer...if you have the hitch mounted professionally then I would just pay a little extra and have them wire it for you to.

Hitchcoon Production Way at Lougheed Highway in Burnaby sold me a connector that just connected into the factory wiring harness.604-444-4824

I have a 96, my one friend has a 2000 and my other friend has a 96 also (all 4 dr). They all were wired for a trailer from the factory. All of them had the wiring in the same location as Korey had described.

Mine was factory wired, but they were too corroded to use. It was nasty weather(and my garage was full) when I needed this done, so I stopped at a Uhaul place, and just asked the guy how much to put my new connector on(I'd already bought it). $10, he said! SOLD! He wired it on, and shoved the 10 spot in his pocket(didn't ring it up for da bossman!).:D

That's been a couple of years ago now, and I need to change it again though. Last weekend, I had to wiggle the connectors for about ten minutes, until I got the lights to come on.[:@]
