Would you make this trade?

I have a pair of 12” Kicker CVR subs in a box I’m looking to get rid of. My box wasn’t bolted down and shifted on me while I was driving like a db. Popped the cap and amp so they’re both useless hunks of metal now. Since I was looking at going with an amped interior setup and no subs anyways, this may work for me.

Currently my system includes a Pioneer DEH-6800MP head unit, and Pioneer door speakers rated at 30W.

Guy from CL wants to trade me his 4x6 and 6x9 pairs of Pioneers. (links below)

Seems to me like they are in good shape and I’ll obviously test them before I accept the trade, but just wanted to see what the audio gurus thought. I’m looking for good sound and a bit of bass, but nothing that’ll rattle the truck like my subs did, haha

Why not buy another amplifier? You can get a cheap amp for like $100 easy to push those subs.

BOSS ONYX CLASS D MONOBLOCK POWER AMPLIFIER 3500 WATTS | eBay

It says 3500 but I'd say its closer to 1000 on stock electrical.

I don't want subs anymore. They take up more room than I'm comfortable with, so I'd rather get good interior speakers with an amp since my rears don't work at all, and my dash speakers sound like crap.

At some point I may put a shallow mount sub in a custom box behind the wheel well, but that's the last thing on my mind at this point.

Ended up not making that trade anyways, guy just seemed a bit shady. I'm actually off to sell them in a few minutes though.

Look into getting some nice 6 and 1/2" components. You can get decent components for $60 a pair. A more than capable 4 channel amp for $100. Would sound amazing.

Not a bad set up there.....

oh, look at the cadence components....

TheRandom1 02-27-2012 02:36 PM

You really like Cadence don't you? Like I said in my other thread, they seem like they're rated way higher than my amp. Shouldn't I get something closer to the RMS the Alpine amp I have will be putting out?

I have a Pioneer DEH-6800MP in mine also.

TheRandom1 02-28-2012 07:41 PM

Ended up not getting that Alpine amp after all, so I'm all open to whatever system I choose now.

Verno, do you have anything else, or just the stereo?
