*Dorman* Block to remote oil lines

I installed the new oil lines today. I think there is a problem with the line length on part of this assembly. What do you think? Replace it?

Bad kink

I don't know about fixing this oil line assembly. How would one fix this?
I'm thinking it was a Monday or Friday when this thing was made. I got this from RockAuto but I'm sure it would cost more than it's worth to ship the dang thing back.

If you call and tell them it doesn't fit properly (with the pictures you included) they will probably either pay for the shipping back, or just ship you the new part out and tell you to keep that one.

Either way, the line should not be kinked like that and I would absolutely replace it.

I have had this happen on a few different occasions and solved it by "adjusting" the lines. Some gentle bending to move the line in such a way as to relieve the tension in that area is often all that is necessary. Although your predicament looks pretty bad... Can the mount back at the remote filter adapter on the block be flipped to where it wouldn't look that bad? It's really odd that the lower line at the filter would end up higher where it runs back to the block.

The flip

Yeah... I had the same thought, that flip attempt I did was a lot of fun. That's got to be the greasiest area on the truck. It did not work. It did not fit that way when I tried it to begin with. I'm a tool and wasted the time trying to reverse it once I noticed the really bad kink. The kink isn't that bad until I mount the brace to the block. I could try to bend the line but I'm going to see what RockAuto will do for me first.

Part #

I believe that is it. You should replace both if you are going to replace one.
