01 2dr Blazer
 

So I've been on this site for a while, and I love it. I've had two blazers so far, the first was a 2000 brown Blazer that my family inherited, which my brother now drives, and now my 2001 Blazer which is blue and I've actually put some work into. And I don't have pictures for everything I've done, so please bear with me on that.

So I started with this

The first couple things I added to it was a beautiful stache and a nice new radio that I had installed in the brown Blazer. For the sound system I have a Memphis PR12 in a sealed box ran by a Sony 1000w amp. I have Memphis 6x9's in the back and Kenwood 6.5's in the doors along with a Kenwood deck. For it being in a sealed box, it actually hit's really hard.

Then the bad happened, after having her for about a month I was going home and she started to over heat. At one point she actually cut off on me and I had to let her sit for a little while till she would start back up. I took her to my dad's friend's house and on the way there she had lost a lot of power. *Please note, at this point I was not much of a mechanic, just oil/brake changes and a few repairs to body damage. No real engine work.* I got there and within seconds of hearing it he could tell a rod was knocking. I only live a few, if that, miles from his house so he told me it was safe to drive home and park it. So she sat there for a few weeks until I was out for summer break and my dad could take time off work so we could repair it.

Unfortunately I don't have picture of us taking the engine out, but we did and sent it off to somewhere to have it rebuilt. We had her parked in the woods for almost all summer so I took some time and played around with plastidip.

I did all of the badges along with the bowtie.

Near the end of the summer we got the engine back and was able to put it back in before school had started back.

Once she was running again, and I found time, I played around with some more plastidip and did the entire grille.

Next up were some nerf bars.

Then I decided to go black on my rims, and my now ex-gf got me a bull bar for my birthday.

I got a 20" LED bar to put on the bull bar and also some halo projector headlights that came with black blinkers.

I also tried out this on my bowtie to make it stand out against the black grille. I don't have a picture of it on the truck, but I like it.

And my most recent endeavor was putting 2" lift shackles on the rear. For everyone saying "Do a shackle lift. It's easy." Screw you. It was a pain in the @ss to do! My dad and I spent two days burning and cutting those stupid bushings out! But nevertheless, we got it and done and it looks good. *Also the tire in this pic is a little smaller than the other ones, so it makes the lift look bigger, but I promise it was only 2"*

So that was all the fun I've had with my baby. She's had a few hiccups here and there but all-in-all she's done me proud. I'll hopefully be getting the front raised some time in the near future. It's 2wd so I'm probably going to just install a spacer underneath each coil spring. Then it's on to bigger tires, and maybe new wheels. Then who knows from there. maybe a light bar on top and a roof rack, I don't know. Thanks for letting me eat up a little of your time, hope you've enjoyed it as much as I have!

In more recent news, my dad and I discovered a problem with the driver side axle shaft that has it sitting at home right now :icon_sad: but hopefully we'll have it up and running this coming weekend. And I've found some 15x10 wheels with the proper backspacing and some 30x9.5 since I don't think I'll be able to clear 31's. This way I'll get bigger tires and a little stance to go with it :icon_woot:

I finally got the front lift done!! I used a spacer and put it on top of the coil spring, it was quite the process. These are the steps I used to take out the springs. http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f198/p...-springs-3543/ but it wasn't as easy as that thread makes it out to be. Once the lift was on I went and got some beefy tires to go with it. I managed to get 265/75/15 Cooper Discoverer A/T3's under there on the stock rims without any rubbing besides one bolt head that it only hits if I'm at full lock.

All in all, I'm extremely happy with the way it looks! Now I'm waiting for Christmas to hopefully get some new goodies for it! *cough* PA System *cough*

Oh! and I forgot to mention, the front was at about 32 inches from the ground to the fender lip. With the new tires and the lift it's at 35.5 inches! And the rear is at 35 inches so the front is just a bit taller right now.

So a couple months ago I accidentally drove up on a friends trailer hitch and put a dent in my brush guard so I figured I would beat that out today while I was bored at home.

All in all it was pretty fun, we spend about an hour out there riding around and talking. The best part is even though it's only 2wd I didn't have a moment of thinking I was stuck.

I guess I was good this year because Santa brought me a couple gifts for the blazer. First was a roof basket which I had a slight suspicion I would be getting (accidentally saw it in the Amazon shopping cart) and he also brought me four led pods to mount on it for light on all sides of the blazer, which I didn't expect at all.

I went ahead and took the spare out of the back and put it up there so I would have a little more cargo room and I'm in the process of installing the lights now. I'm trying to take my time and make sure they're done right so no rain will mess up the wiring.

Got the lights finished then went out with my girlfriend. For these being $60 lights they are bright as mess! There are some dark spots around the truck, but some rock lights will take care of that.

This is the wiring. Like I said, I tried to make it as professional as possible. Thanks to the gap between the rear glass and the body I was able to run the wires to the back and up to the basket while only making one hole. I used a two flat trailer extension to act as a quick disconnect. Everything is wrapped in black wire loom and certain places are electrical tape to keep the loom on, then ziptied to the basket to keep everything in place. And I used snapchat to take this picture, hence the caption.

After I put my spare up top, I decided to remove the spare holder that was in the truck so I would have a little more cargo room and easier access to the jack storage. I like how it looks without it even though there's a large hole in my jack storage now.
