02 Blazer 4x4 new build

In the middle of the summer i recently acquired a new-to-me Chevy Blazer, after replacing all of the wear parts that needed to be changed I now have saved funds to do some nice mods. Here is my list. feel free to suggest things as i am open to suggestions and tips.

1.Truck bed liner the rockers.
2.Do something with the faded back window trim.
3.Exhaust
4.Taillights
5.New radio and speakers
6. Sub woofers (possibly)
7.rims and tires possibly. (SOMETHING INEXPENSIVE.)
8.Blackout Front Chevy symbol
9.Clear corners
10.Paint front hooks.
11.fix compass temp thing...

I would love to lift the truck but i am on a budget. but on the upside, the truck only has 91,000 on it.

I will post pics when i get a chance.

Thanks,

You can get a set of 31x10.5x15 tires for as cheap as $750-$800 and rims for $85 each. You can do a 2" lift shackle on the back for about $100-$120 and then you just crank the T-bar on the front all the way up.

I've also did a DIY on a sub and amp box for my blazer.

Look in the DIY section for the sub box built I did and the built section for my blazer with the cheaper rims and tires.

Sounds like a good start. Just make sure to mask the truck really well when you bedliner the rockers. That stuff goes everywhere.

You can also get shackle lift at Autozone for like 20to and crank the tbar but have to warn you that will be more expensive in the long run cause the angle that the tbar crank putsthe hub assembly and cvs you will go thru those parts quickly I went thru 3 sets of hub bearings and 5 cv axles in the front in the 2 yrs I have had my 93 LT Tahoe I just recently found a relitivly in expensive lift that has been designed to ease the stress of those parts check it out at roughcountry.com and search ur truck there's also a forum on her about it somewhere and also one on tbar crank I'd look up on it b4 you do so as I didn't and couldn't figure out y I was waisting parts mechanic shop couldn't even tel me y but good luck and happy trails

What type of paint did you use for the rockers TheRandom1?

TheRandom1 12-17-2011 11:27 AM

Duplicolor spray on bedliner.

That's what i was planing on using. Any Suggestions on prep work?

I just wiped mine down with a wax/grease remover and shot it on. You may want to also scuff the paint a bit so it'll stick better. So far I haven't had any issues other than a rust spot I knew about showing through, but that'll happen with anything.

Over winter break I was able to cross off number 5 on the list, I replaced my cheap boss head unit with a pioneer head unit, replaced the stock speakers with pioneer 3 ways as well. After thinking it over, subwoofers probably wont happen, i like the rear cargo room. I will post some pics later on.

This is the pioneer head unit, i have pics of the installation but they are in my buddys camera.
