That winch mount is pretty serious.

I was just in Florida! Wish I didn't have to come home... damn beautiful weather

Covered the rest of the winch mount in primer today, will probably be a few days before I can put some black coats on it with the weather coming up...

For the time being I put some edging on the opening I cut into the bumper and threw it back on the truck so the front end doesn't look quite as naked lol

lol yeah me too... I'm going to fab up some sort of shield plate to put between it and the winch when I assemble everything

Hadyss 12-05-2017 07:11 PM

My bumper was wide open to it and I got a plate welded on to cover it up took me a week and I was worried the whole time driving that some idiot was gonna hit it with a rock

Do you have a body lift? I ask as I'm trying work out the geometry of how to install a hidden front receiver hitch that would extend through where the licence plate would be. I want to be able to use a hitch mounted winch on the front or back but not have it installed permanently.

I found this write up of what I want to do but this truck has a 2" body lift: Front & Rear Hitches

No body lift. Never been a fan of them on S series just because of how much frame shows underneath...

BTW, thanks for the great write-up on your build. It is really useful.
