1995 Blazer - Sorta build
 

Let see if I can get this build off the ground! Here is the indented victim...1995 Blazer (OBD1.5/CPI - 01/95 build date) 4X4 in need of some love to be totally road worthy. I will do more photos after I get them sized so as not to take up so much room.

Had a SES light on since I bought it. Smelled way too rich for a EFI system so....I removed the top of the intake and had a look.

No more SES light and it runs almost perfect now. Next is that transmission! I know how much of a butt kick'n it will be but it must be done....no reverse...broken sun shell. New trans already in the garage waiting.

Here it is in all it's glory!!!! Built to take a load and not to race so it's a few notches above stock.

I got it in and was fighting it all the way so I didn't get any pictures of all the carnage. I used almost all the curse words know to man!:mad: I don't normally say those words! I DO hate it when that happens

First off let me apologize for the misspelled word of my thread name. Dyslexia was on my finger tips as I typed it. CORRECTED!!! OK...now on to more Blazer stuff. Here is what I bought to throw at the Blazer AFTER the drive train is fully finished. First up...all the front end parts to replace all the badly worn pieces. Fuel tubes already installed!

Here are the wheels I intend to use...16"x7 Camaro "spare" steel wheels. Will wrap them with 255/70-16 Mud tire tires. 2" spacers will be used to keep them from rubbing on the inside...will cut stuff to keep them from rubbing on body parts.

WELL........trans and transfer case is fully installed now. Now on to the front end and tear all that apart and install new parts. It should be easier than what I just went through! JUST HAS TO BE!!!!

Compared the transmission and transfer case the front end parts should be easy. I have one of those steel wheels as a spare.

Yeah....most of my comment was rhetorical in nature. I've done a lot of vehicles through the years so I guess the age thing is taking it's toll on me. Everything seem harder to do! :( I started over in my 40's so I now have a 16 year old who is helping but I have to do most alone. He is learning something that will help him later in life. I also have a 13 year old who will be next in line......just hope I can do this stuff again after 60!

Well more adventures in Blazer RE-BUILDING. This weekend I get started on doing the rear end. Let see what I have here.

Completed all the rebuilding of the rear I'm gona do...put in new bearings and seals. Axles didn't look too bad for how many mile are on this thing.

Now both side have brake shoes that don't drip with 70W-90 gear oil!

Drums were turned and look good. they say "MADE IN CANADA" so they've got to better then the "MADE IN CHINA" ones you get now-a-days!

I must be getting old...it took me all weekend long just to do this. Yeah it was hot (98+) but I do have some portable shade. Seems like it takes me longer to do things. I only turned 57 this year! Not over 60 yet!!!!!

looks good. You are doing the same things i have done or need to do to my 95. Just put in the fourth transmission about a month ago. so i know there isn't any shame in getting a little colorful :). i have to restore(paint) my rear differential cover, it doesnt leak but it sure is ugly. also need to paint both the sway bars. i have been restoring the frame slowly over the past few weeks. i was tired of seeing the rust. anyway keep up the good work with the build :)

WOW someone had time to read some build threads! Thank you much for your kind words. I will get my son under the truck later so he can get acquainted with HARD WORK! He can scrap and wire brush all the exposed metal and then with an crappy bush paint it with quart of semi-gloss black Rustoleum. As for that ratty pitted cover...I will build a hard case cover for it later. He wants to do some off road-ing after he gets his license this month. Little more to go and I'll call it done! HE CAN WORK ON IT!!!!:icon_wink:

yeh it is tough work but what i have seen it's worth it. the method you are saying for painting the frame is exactly the stuff i did. i can even send you pics of what it looks like done. your son has got a great car there :)
