2000 2wd 5 speed blazer build ???options/suggestions???

well i got this 2wd 5 speed blazer :) happy with it and love it even in stock form... im fixing to get a lump sum of money and i am going to get some kind of v8 and a transmission... i thought about gettin a good 5.3 and just using my nv3500 5 speed and making it run and drive so i dont lose interest... buying every thing to restore the suspension and another motor and tranny... i already have bell tech 5 inch drop spindles in the front... i wanna get and go through a 6.0, t56 6 speed, 8.5 inch differential, 4 new shocks, new rear leafs and i prefer them off an extreme and blocks.... i wanna change upper and lower ball joints, control arm and sway bar bushings, tierods inner and outter, iddler arm... and drilled and slotted rotors covered up with zq8's.. i would love to have someone fill me in on tips and secrets... like harness pin outs what bell housings or oil pans what kind of radiator etc etc... i would use a 4.8 but im not even remotely interested in a 5.7... i want a ls block...

so are you using a 5.7 or 4.8 or 5.3 or 6.0? I say 5.3 nice cam/l92 heads/intake/ and tune. Ford 9in rearend and whatever tranny came with the engine and build it. check out the lsx section on s10forum.com, they have mulitiple swaps on the ls blocks. more then this site probably has.

check out the "lsswap.com" web page it has all the pin out info you could want. it also has places that will reflash the pcm. also check out any page you can find that has head and block casting numbers explained and it should also give you the combustion chamber size, valve sizes etc... the info on an ls engine spec page may get you info you need to make a screamin' choice. lots of cam and head combo choices out there as well as wiring and tranny guides. good luck and keep us posted. ps. a narrowed ford 8.8 inch rear end from a 98-99 explorer with trac-loc and a 3.73 gear is a lot easier and cheaper to find. just cut 3"out of the left tube and install a right side axle shaft and your done. it should also get you rear disc brakes.have the axle shafts redrilled to a 4-3/4 bolt pattern and just elongate the holes in the drum or rotors to fit. have fun!!!
