2000 chevy blazer ls 4x4 2kdumpbox*
i just bought a 2000 chevy blazer, ls 4x4, 4 door, 4.3l. i already kicked it off with new pads and rotors, ordering the cold air intake friday and installing the flowmaster muffler. im looking to lower this thing 4 to 5 inches, but stay 4x4. i havent been able to find much usefull info. and websites with prices would help.

You can get drop shackles on Ebay, would lower your rear end a couple inches. The front can be lowered by uncranking the Torsion bars.

just washed her up. ordering the cold air on friday, cutting off the muffler, andbody have any camaro or corvette wheels they want to sell? edit: anybody know how to do door pins? i need to do the fronts bad, and my rear hatch will not open, suggestions? |
The 4wd models don't use springs, like the 2wd's do. The torsion keys in the front allow an easy way to lift/lower your truck. Make sure you get an alignment after though. Check out google for a tutorial about your door pins, I think I saw one on there? :S

You dont need torsion key adjusters. There is a bolt on the torsion keys that you can screw in and out to sort of adjust the ride height. But doing this either up or down will affect your suspension the way it rides and cause premature wear of ball joints tires ect. You will not find a way to lower the front more then two inches max on a 4wd. Lowering a 4wd torsion bar suspension truck 5 inches in the front is going to be really expensive. If you want to go that low you are going to have to find a 2wd. Or modify the suspension heavily. The only way I see to do that is to remove the torsion bars and find a way to mount coilover shocks but doing that you would still probly have to ditch the front cv axles.

Yeah you cant drop the front more than a couple inches, and it would be real easy to hit the bumpstops like that and make for a crappy ride. Not to mention the premature wear on everything.

i just need a little more low lol, vette wheels would not look right if i was sitting up high.

Unless you toss some meaty tires on it, then it'd look OK, I think.
