97 blazer build
 

Ok i started on a 97 blazer 4x4 that my gf,s mom gave us so far i have had to replace

1) Main shift cable it works however it is considerably shorter than the previous one

2) Passenger side front fender

3) Grill

4) Rear bumper corners (previous ones were completely demolished)

5) Passenger side mirror

6) re-painted truck black with red racing stripes and red with chrome trim :icon_wink:

WHAT STILL NEEDS TO BE DONE (and soon cause im racing the cold weather)

turn signal switch (to end that damned clicking) :icon_doh:

converting to manual 4x4 (so i can do away completely with that and unreliable 4x4 vacuum and electrical system) also will try to adapt a manual 4x4 shifter and bezel from gen 1 blazer not quite sure if it will work with the position that the lever will have to be in

still needs a lil wet sanding and buffing to improve paint job

will post more pics with the stripes and all in them tomorrow

ok one thing i do need help with is a diagram of the encoder motor and how to remove it properly i love any kind of input i get because i like to do things right the first time not have to go through three and four times before its good :(

could someone please tell me how to properly remove the shift motor on a np-233 transfer case? and also my truck is stuck in 4 hi and will not shift into 2hi i hear the tccm clicking and i hear clicking underneath the truck but the light only blinks and goes right back to 4hi this is why im converting to manual shift! also is there a way to shift the transfer case into 2hi manually so that i can start my conversion (thread said to make sure truck was in 2hi b4 converting to manual shift)

It looks like your missing the piece of moulding on the passenger side rear door. I have one if you need it?

thank you for the offer however i have since removed the trim and painted a red stripe in place of that the entire exterior of the truck has been de-badged and will be re-badged so to speak with blazer decals once again thank you for the offer

Hi,
that`s the problem like I had and why I converted it to manual shift. If you remove the encoder motor you can turn the shift shaft with a wrench. There are 3 clicks. The one counterclockwise is 2HI, the middle one 4HI and complete clockwise it`s 4LO.

i have read your build thread but what did you use for your vacuum switch?
the Zr2 thread on converting to manual said to that he used one from his hvac or "AIR" system and stated that it was located by the air pump behind the passenger side front bumper. I cant seem to locate mine as my air conditioning does not work anyway! thanks any help would be much appreciated
