Blazer zr2 shocks in a GMC Jimmy?
Hey everyone! I have a 1996 GMC Jimmy that I got for $675. I really would like to lift it a noticeable but not huge difference. I know that the ZR2 is lifted a nice amount. Does anyone know if ZR2 shocks will fit in a GMC Jimmy? If not, what are some other ways to lift it? I am 14 so my budget isn't exactly...large. If it is under $200 I will be happy. I am also very good with mechanicals (I just replaced my radiator a couple days ago!) so I will be installing everything myself.
For my first post, I would also like to add some details about my Jimmy. 1996 GMC Jimmy SLS with 262,000KM. My dad had a Blazer before I got my Jimmy.dark ruby red (or something like that). Runs awesome! |
Free torsion crank and $40 shackles can get you 2" in the rear and 1.5" in the front coupled with a body lift would get you sitting pretty decent

Kenny pretty much nailed the cheap lift on the head with his post. Shocks aren't what give you lift they only work with your torsion bars and leaf springs to help give you a comfortable ride. Since your young keep on reading all around the forum and you will learn everything you will probably ever need to know about your rig!

It wouldnt weaken the frame at all and as an added bonus these are boxed frames from the factory.
