Building a 2 wheel drive to a 4x4

I HAVE 2 1996 S-10 BLAZER`S 4 DOORS. THE 4X4 BODY WAS TRASHED AND INTERIOR WAS NOT FAVORED COLOR SO I DECIDED TO PUT THE 2 WHEEL DRIVE BODY ON THE 4X4 CHASSIS, LOOKED TO EASY SO WHY NOT. WELL THE ONLY ISSUE IS THE WIRE HARNESS :icon_question: CAN I USE THE 2 WHEEL DRIVE OR DO I HAVE YO REPLACE THE ENTIRE HARNESS FROM THE 4X4? HAS ANY ONE TRIED THIS BEFORE, LOOKING FOR ANY SUGGESTION. THANKS FOR READING BUD..........

ALL underhood wire harnesses, including the fuse panel & PCM on the 4X4 body, will need to go into the 2WD body. ALL instrument panel harnesses, along with the TCCM and 4WD switch, will need to be changed over as well. Might be easier to swap the entire dash as a unit. All transfer case & transmission harnesses will need to be changed as well. Basically you're completely gutting two vehicles and assembling one, plus swapping bodies. Hope you have plenty of storage space on your camera. You'll be taking tons of pictures to help you remember where stuff goes.

Thank you captain hook, i kinda thought that was the way it was going to be. It don`t hurt to get a second opinion. Thanks again bud.............

Don't misunderstand, it can be done. It's all straight forward, but it's a LOT of work. Best to know that before jumping in.

Captain hook, thanks for the reply. Well i guess i put the cart in front of the horse on this project, before i started asking questions the 2 wheel drive is hanging high with no chassis. Body and its wiring only intact ( motor was blown up before i started when i sold the chassis all he wanted was a rolling chassis ) the 4x4 chassis is complete and ready to roll under the 2wd body. I guess that’s my next step. I`ll keep you posted if you like. Thanks bud........

I may be wrong on this but I think the floor on the 4wd is different. The 4wd has a hump in the floor in front of the front passenger seat for the transfer case.

Hello, thanks for the reply, i will look closer. The 4x4 body is all ready cut up and removed. The transfer case is directly behind the trans. Don`t think i have a issue yet with that. I`am going to check that out and i`ll let you know thanks bud..........
