Chevyriders Minnie Jimmy project (Return of the Minnie Jimmy)
#61
It looks like the Minnie Jimmy project is coming to an end today. I'll be doing rear brakes on it today, and then it will be getting passed along to my cousin...I'm sad to see it go, but it's only left the driveway a few times, and just sits there most of the time - so no sense letting it sit there and rust.

Thanks! I just cut the connectors and soldered some spade connectors on. If I remember correct, the wires were the same color despite the different connectors. The neons are know to go bad so test it before you waste your time. Mine worked intermittently, but i was able to revive it. If yours doesn't work at first I'll walk you thru what I did.

I noticed that there's a high voltage warning on the neon light. Do you know, is there a transformer in line to handle the high volts?
I think I will take a bunch of pics and make a new thread dedicated to the Envoy spoiler....so you can have your thread back.

Well i havent been on here in a while, but im back now... and so is the minnie jimmy! bought it back for 550 after a couple years of being beat on and neglected.. but im working on getting her back to good working order.
So far since ive gotten it back i have:
-Welded new pipes in to fix broken y pipe
-Replaced both front hub assemblies
-Replaced inner and outer tierods and sleeves
-Replaced pitman arm and idler arm
- new front brakes
-oil change
-put envoy bumper back on
-wipers
-fixed(yet another) quiescent current draw - this time it was the module for keyless entry...which i dont have a fob anyway so i just unplugged it. I like a free fix haha.
-new hinge pins on drivers door.
future plans:
- lower control arms
- Lower the truck back down 3" and put spacers back on rear wheels (i still have the blocks and spacers from before)
- put the set of z28 wheels i have kicking around from my 4th gen that got totaled
-drop shocks all the way around
-new rear wheel bearings/seals
-rear brake shoes/springs
-wire foglights up so i can actually see at night
-new (used)drivers door/moulding.
-Maybe fix the rust on the rockers.. not sure how if im going to go that far yet though

I’m still alive! Just been a crazy ride the last year or so; and I’ve been doing a lot of playing with camaros so the blazer went on the back burner for a while . I feel bad cause I’ve neglected it, so I’m going to be giving it some much needed attention over the winter. Right now it’s sitting on my car trailer burried by snow; but it’s sposed to be 50s the next 2 days so hopefully I’ll be able to get it out and off the trailer easily pretty soon here
