This one got a new lower intake gasket. After installing gasket and changing the milky oil out with used oil and seafoam twice, I filled it a third time and it is smoking white out the tail pipe. I'm still not certain as to the problem due to the seafoaming. The exhaust smells of raw fuel badly. I checked the fuel pressure and it is holding fine. I found the check valve on the exhaust for the secondary air injection bad. I'm waiting on new check valves and I've already got the new 90 degree rubber boots. After I get these parts on I can address the smoking issue. What would be the best way to test for a bad head gasket or cracked head? Pressurize the radiator and check the spark plugs for wetness or leak down test?

I'm getting an Equus 3150 Innova ABS + Professional CanOBD2 Diagnostic Code Scanner for OBDII Vehicles soon. Anyone recommend these?

How long did the water sit in the oil? It's possible it caused rust in the cylinders/bearings and now the gaps are off or it's getting blowby from the rings not being seated properly anymore. Or any number of other things could be happening, valve seats/valves have rust/corrosion on them, spark plugs fouled from water in the cylinders, etc. etc.

Auction vehicle

I bought this one from a dealer that purchased it at auction. He drove it home and it let go in the yard a couple of days later while he was just moving it to get to another vehicle. I went over to his house to purchase it. He drove it up on the dolly and it was not smoking. There was no water in the radiator then. I suspect a bad gasket or cracked head. I've got a set of reworked 2001 heads already so it is no big deal.

Yeah if that's the case I'd pull it apart, have the heads magnafluxed (no sense wasting them if they are good) and while you're in there might as well replace the lifters.
