Grocery getter- 99 4 door Blazer

I really do use this thing to go get groceries. Also, some daily driving duties and part time weekend wheeler.

I've always had a soft spot for s-series trucks and blazers. I had a couple Xtreme's in high school then we started taking my work truck (89 Jimmy) out in the woods on the weekend. From there I built a few other blazers/jimmys, one ex. cab s10 with a cherokee and bronco II mixed in there. I've never kept any of them real long but this is the nicest one I've done so far. I enjoy driving it and don't have a lot of time to build another one any more so I'll keep it for a while.

I've got pictures of everything and I can post a few more details of the build if people are interested.

Here it is as it sits today. I've got a mismatched set of 37's I put on it when I take it wheeling but these 35's are so much smoother on the road.

Nice! I got a 99 4 door myself, I use it as a DD. Is that a costume built suspensions? How much lift total?

kmk523 07-25-2018 05:13 PM

The front is all custom. Not sure how much lift. The rear is just a spring over with 2” longer shackles so 6-7” maybe?

Nice rig man! I dig it.

What axles are those, 14 bolt rear and 60 front? Dodge 60? I like the hmmwv beadlocks

Working on little things lately. I burned up my winch the last trip out so I got a used one from a buddy but it required some work on the front bumper. The winch should sit more level now and pull straight rather than down on the front end. It'll require some trimming to the grill tho. Also found my exhaust leak while changing plug wires last night. Turns out the #1 plug was loose.

Next up is a new compressor and a/c stuff. I never found my leak but the compressor was damp/oily after filling the a/c system and driving for a couple of days so I'm guessing that's it. May also run to the steel supplier Friday and see if they have the tube I need to finish the bumpers.

Front bumper is finished except for a small light bar, A/C has been replaced/fixed, switch panel made for winch controls and accessories, sending unit fixed and found a bald set of 37" MTR's to swap out the dry rotting 35's. Next is either sliders, hyrdo assist or some type of quick disconnect sway bar.

Nice. I really like the winch controls in the center console.

Very nice. I like how filled the CD holder. Good job.

I haven't taken many good pictures lately but the blazer is still coming along. I had to swap tail lights after one got cracked backing into a tree in the woods. These wouldn't be my first choice but they were free. I also wrinkled the passenger rear door some trying to squeeze between two trees on a tight trail. Next up was a quick disconnect sway bar (again, no good pictures) and lately, I'm been messing around with an old steering box prepping for hydro assist. I didn't want to take my good astro box off and drill it until i knew what I was doing.
