Inhereted 1978 K5 Cheyenne

Hey!
My name is Gary and I am mainly a Subaru STI guy but i just got this 1978 K5 Blazer from my grandfather. It has been sitting for the last 9years in the mountains of colorado with the rear window down.... Yea, it is as bad as it sounds. it has been home to thousands and thousands of squirrels, a mother cat had her litter under the driver seat and of course the weather. I will post pics of the disaster tomorrow.

I will try to use this thread as a place to ask questions and recieve help as well as track my progress on the animal.

Excited to meet the Blazer crowd!

-Gary

Day 1:
Removed the cluster **** of squirrel and rat nests, from the front half of the thing. Removed front seats and center console
Romoved all carpet from the front of the Blazer
filled brake, power stearing, coolant, and oil.
Removed air cleaner and inspected the carb, Looked good, and fired up after a few minutes
Checked the 1 flat tire to see if it could hold air, it failed. now im looking for tires.
filled brake, power stearing, coolant, and oil.

The thing is a frickin wreck! I'm planning on removing all of the interior, including the carpet and seats. The plan is to spray the floor boards and kick panels with Rhino Lining or something similar and have the seats re-upholstered or replaced.

there was about twice as much crap as this. the sticks, those pollon things, and a bunch of little rocks came out of one of the exhaust pipes. the other one has junk stuck in it still

awesome. thats how i got my first k5 blazer. thing was sitting in a field for like 4 years, smelly and crap all inside of it, no floor, etc. but that truck lasted me 4 years of offroad use so dont count it out just yet.

Not counting it out by any means!

this is what I am hoping to get this thing to. what lifts are available? what lift could this be? what size are those wheels etc

Lucky you; I think. Still welcome to the forum and good luck with your build. It's always nice to see old trucks like this end up in the hands of someone willing and capable or fixing them up.

the title of the vid says 39.5 inch boggers. my guess would be probably a 8-10 inch lift

Welcome to the forum! I hope your not intending on smashing the front end on a downed tree:icon_doh:. LOL!
