I have a '71 Chevy C10 I'd like to put my '85 Blazer frame under it and get a RAM 2500 frame to put under my '85 Blazer. Any thoughts? Would the 85 frame fit under the C10 body? Would the Dodge RAM frame fit under the Blazer body? As it sits now I feel the Blazer frame and all is just not "beefy" enough for the tires and engine

It would be much easier to put a Chevy 2500 frame from a square body under the Blazer. Even then, you would have to shorten it and probably rework some of the body mounts. Any particular reason you want a Dodge? You looking to convert it to diesel?

To be clear it's nothing but diesel. I know nothing of the Duramax diesel and from what I've heard they are quieter then Detroit's. Are the square body frames the same width as the 71 era C10? I know that the C10 is a good 6" wider than the newer series trucks because my father-in-laws truck liner was that much narrower.

I think anything is quieter than a Detroit, lol. I'm not all that familiar with the Duramax, either, but I think they're pretty solid. I haven't heard much to the contrary. The K5 frame will be too short for the C10, and you may run into problems because one is 2WD and one is 4x4. The suspension is different (obviously), but I don't know how that affects body mounts, etc. As far as frame width, I think the K5 and K10 are pretty much identical, but not sure about the C10.
