my new "dumped" 98

hi, im new to the forum. i have had my jimmy for about 3 days now (traded my 94 honda accord for it.) and have a couple questions pertaining to my "build"

any help would be greatly apreciated.

1. I am used to japenese cars and the way they work. and how to mod the fuel supply and ecu to compensate for boost and engine upgrades. My question is, is there a tuneable ecu out there for these with out going stand alone like megasquirt or haltech?

2. i pretty much have decided to go for forced induction for the 4.3 over the v8 swap. would you recommend either a turbo system or procharger?

3. rear end options... mainly looking for any posi options there are out there. dont want a one wheel wonder.

it is a 2wd auto and i do plan on racing it at the local 1/8th mile track next summer. also ive been reading about stock 1/8th mile times and was wondering if anyone could shed some light on it. getting mixed answers im guessing it should be around a 10sec 1/8th just based on my CAI honda pulled 10.5s also this truck is dumped to the ground.

Now thats the way a blazer is suppose to look. How much has it been lowered?

1: no sure...
2: turbo, more performance options. v8:cheaper, more power, more work though
3: ford 8.8 from an explorer. wagoneer D44, scout d44

thanks guys. sorry its taken so long been pretty busy. anyways.

its a 3.5 inch drop all around

and...does the explorer rear end just bolt up and would effect the height the truck?

also a new problem has come up. it only happens when there is two people in the truck but if a take a left turn and kinda get on it there is like a metallic noise coming from the rear end. not sure if wheel bearing or what....

any info would help

once again thank you for your responses

I have an 01 explorer 8.8 in mine and you will need a new pinion flange to bolt the driveshaft up.
Weiland(sp?) supercharger is the way I want to go. Straight up bolt on. bout $2200
Your noise is probably a worn axle shaft bearing or worn axle shaft creating noise IN the bearing. Just fixed both problems on a customers blazer. Get it before It gets any worse and you wont need a shaft. $$$
