I haven't welded in over 10 years and even when I did way back then I had no idea what I was actually doing lol! I will be learning as I go basically I do happen to have a step father that is a certified welding instructor and inspector but he lives in Arkansas so he is only good for tips and tricks! I played around a bit on a couple dirty pieces of metal that I literally wire brushed the paint off of lol! After farting around for 10-15 minutes I was able to get to this point. Don't mind all the spatter like I said it is dirty metal and flux so it is what it is

I am going to get some Argon mix soon so I can put down cleaner welds with less spatter

It was only half joke, haha. It would be a really really tough bumper. Buddy of mine had something very similar on the back of his Lightning. He got hit and barely scratched it, but the other dudes car was totaled. Plus it'll give you a flat top to add lights/stinger/winch/etc to.

my bumper here that I did thisa past weekend is welded to the frame in 4 different spots. 2 original bumper mounts and 2 lower frame.I could pick up the whole truck with the bumper. But if you hit something hard you`ll bend your frame also. Rex, that weld will work, looks good

Scrap steel yard is a good place to get steel. Cheap too.

Newguy that bumper looks nice!!

I'll have to look for a scrap steel yard. Perhaps I can get some scraps from an actual steel yard for a decent price? I'll just have to call around tomorrow and see what I can come up with I guess!

Size comparison

And here it is all welded. Its not very pretty but owell it works as it should!

I can get a sound clip one of these days and post it up for you but of course it will be crappy I'm sure since it will be with my Ijunk! I think it sounds really good I'm very happy with it so far.
