Rex, it's interesting that you have some binding in your steering. I haven't had any problems with mine. Have you considered following the instructions for the ZR2's from the installation manual to drop the steering column 1/4"-1/2" by ovaling the bolt holes slightly?

Yeah I actually plan to do that! I just need to buy or borrow a dremel to make the job a little easier

Well I got my DR44G alt from FedEx today so I figured I'd go ahead and throw it on Bought it off a member on s10forum for $50. Not bad I don't think since I didn't have to search the yard for it or anything.
DR on the left

You can kinda see where my other alt looks burnt I dunno what that's all about but it could have something to do with why it sucked so bad lol

Went to Advance and picked up a little longer belt.

All is good to go! Now when I come to a stop my volts stay right at 14 and don't drop to 9-10. I can have the AC on high, high beams on, and the efans on hi and it still stays at 14 volts. I should have done this a long time ago!

Yeah I was running high beams, ac on high, both Efans on hi, my wimpy radio was on, and I had a buddy put it in gear and hold the brake and still read 14v

I am doing mine, probably this weekend. I have to convert it to a 4pin, but I will write that up too. When my e-fans turn on high I drop to about 12v, I also have the intrepid fans. I also got at smaller alternator pulley.

Where'd you get your pulley from? I was thinking about doing that as well.

It is a "Drive Rite" 970K6. I don't like it and I am going to use it to cross reference and get a gatorback but just haven't had the time yet

I also just finished my Corvette servo install. I will do a write up tomorrow when I have more time to do it right!
