Ya I thought about those but no idea how to really mount them. Your lucky those flat panels make it alot easier to mount stuff.

Build some "clamp" brackets of some type

ya have to make a run to the hardware store and look around. I'll come up with something. l:icon_denk:
Maybe even a flat piece on the inside of the rack with a hole then a hole in the shovel then throw a bolt throw it with a wingnut on the end... |
Yeah or take you some thin plate steel and cut you out some mounts and weld up there. That will be the most secure way. I dont really know how to describe how mine are mounted but the guy that had the rack before me (it was a free score from a buddy of mine) basically has a tool that drills a hole and installs a nut in the actual frame itself so all my mounts were already there. Ill try to post up some pics tomorrow so you can understand it a little better cause I know that doesnt make a whole lot of sense.

I think I get what your saying. Just a bolt through the frame of the rack? That might not be a bad idea.
|
No its almost like nuts have been welded inside the frame itself. Its called a nutsert if you want to google it..

I feel like banging my head against the wall. I just did a full tune up and new tranny fluid and replaced my fpr and I'm still only getting a little over 10mpg. I know running bigger tires and a roof rack will effect gas mileage but this seems a little ridiculous. It sucks I have alot of plans for the blazer but I'm not going to do anything until I know that its running right. It starts right up and idles great. I have no idea what it could be. Any suggestions?

What gear ratio do you have?
I have 31s on my ZR2 with a 3.73 rear end and get 14-15MPG |
I have 3.73 as well
|
Hmmm. Well, removing the roof basket and stuff from the back would help a little, but I don't think they're the main cause. How hard to you drive it?
