Alright, so I've used this forum a ton in the past to research and find information, along with google and other forums out there. Anyways, I'm finally getting around to doing a SAS using some 86 Grand Wagoneer Dana 44's I got a smoking deal on and figured it's time to contribute back a little since I haven't posted much here. I'll try to take photos for others interested in doing something similar because I know this resource has helped me a ton!

The Dana 44's w/ Warn locking hubs up, Lock-Rite Locker up front, and 4.27 gears:

More to follow when I get to rebuilding the rear because it has a full spool in it currently, swapping it out for a Detroit True Track. :D

Can't wait to see the build! Look into a Yukon Grizzly for the rear if you don't already have the Detroit. They are a bit cheaper and won't implode on themselves should you happen to break a shaft like the Detroits will.

Finally about to start tearing into the transfer case i've had laying around for months! Went to this sweet shop yesterday because it was the only place my buddy could find a pinion nut in the whole area to finish putting his d35 back together and get his jeep back on the road and i picked up a few parts for myself. Anyways, East Coast Gear Supply is an awesome place :P

Finally got the case all apart. Ended up cracking it a little though trying to get the front yoke off...gonna try out some brazing tomorrow to fix her back up. Luckly there's not really anything in this spot of the case.

This stuff did the trick and that hole should be stronger now than the case itself lol used a brazing rod called 52 alloy if anyone was wondering. This stuff is pretty awesome and all you need is a propane or mapp torch to apply it.

Seeped in thru all the holes and cracks to bond it all back together

Glad you were able to repair it. Looks like it should hold up pretty well.

damn that's a purdy transfercase :D

Thanks blazen' red. Figured I'd give it a nice touch while it was out and since I put a decent amount of cash in it. I also did it because I wanted to see how those colors would come out, thinking about painting my engine same colors when I do either a rebuild or 350 swap.

Been a good minute since i've posted an update! Been busy getting some work in :D Anyways around Christmas I went and picked myself up a junked 03 Blazer and tore that baby down to the bare frame to make the swap easier. Plus all the extra parts I have now :icon_woot: Then on top of that I've been taking a welding class at the local community college. So thankful my unit let me do that. Can't beat 180 bucks for 6 weeks long of welding stick, mig, and tig! Totally worth it. Anyways, here's some pictures for you guys that are still on this forum haha
