Hey guys. Im making a build thread cuz I just wanna show the old girl off!!! And it might inspire me to get some more cool stuff done.

1997 Blazer LT, 4x4

Heres around when I first got the Blazer. This was taken back home in Maine. Never was able to get any pictures during the winter! Dangit.

Moved to Ohio in Feb., and got the Blazer up here in Late April/May.

First things first! Ditch that broken Delco CD player and toss in something better. Bug = Caught.

Tossed on a couple of LED strips.

Okay, so that was a bad idea.... So I moved them! Wired them to the trailer harness because I didn't have any idea where to splice from the fronts. Still got a little bit of placement to do, but it's cold out so I'm not worried about it. You can also see my crooked vanity plate.

Somewhere in the mix I picked up my Bravada centerpiece. There were window controls of the same wood but one piece was missing at the junkyard.

Got a blacklight for the top there, too

Scored a boxed pair of 12" Kicker CVRs and a 250w Audiobahn 4002J from my neighbor for 50 bucks! Wired them in with a 4g kit from KnuKonceptz and bumped away.

Its not the prettiest thing in the world, but its super functional.

Thumping good right? Tossed something, Faulty alternator left me with an open charging system. Voltage increased with the acceleration of the belt, some failsafe system kicks in and a 700 RPM jump every second. It stopped, after I pulled into a gas station, but there was no reason not to change the alternator.

Anddddd the tensioner pulley

And since I replaced the alternator.... I just want to show off my lack of SES!!!! Took this today. Replaced the alt on wed night.

That's all for now. I replaced the radiator over the summer but I didnt get any pictures. Whoever did the brake lines ran them between the oil cooler lines which made removal a frickfrackin sunbit. And GFs dad was helping. Took 4 hours. He wont hesitate to talk smack about the "lemon" Blazer.

I got some other stuff in the works, but nothing for the next month or so.

Cool blazer dude any plans on lifting it or getting exaust work done? If you want to go cheap lifting go for a 2 inch body lift for $200 you can fit 31s but if youre gonna go offroading id go with 2.5 rough country lift you can fit 31s on this too.

Thanks man. I'd like to give it an RC 2.5, in the event I move back home I have about 150 acres of land I can 4x4 on. Until then this build is gonna be mostly audio and fixing what the previous owner neglected. Not too sure what I want to go with for exhaust. For now its already got a pretty good stock bwap to it.

Also thinking I might run a regular Spectre cool air intake kit for a few months of the year, swap the fan for E's, swap in some Monroe shocks, tune up, some more luxury interior components, etc. But I won't be able to get to that until spring when it warms up a little.

My next toy is most likely going to be one of those little bluetooth OBDII inserts I can run and monitor via Torque. I've got a slight hesitation on stop and go I need to diagnose, and with no SES light on there isn't a code to tell me where to start. My first assumption is the fuel pump/sender since my gauge doesn't work correctly, but I'd rather start with a $25 lead than a $150 assumption!

Did someone paint those subs? I like the black and silver combo.

Badco 12-09-2013 04:29 PM

Yeah, my neighbors brother in law thought it would be "cool" to have white kickers. Just means I have to vaccum up little white flakes every now and then, but the subs themselves were a steal and perform just like any other.

That black is awful hard to keep clean!

Picked up some Camaro rims yesterday for 100 bucks. They need a bit of elbow grease to look good, but I like em. Gotta get my tires swapped over first so I don't end up recalibrating the speedo to 205/65 and recalibrating back to 235/75.

SES light came back on, and it's the post cat 02 sensor. I'll get there when I get there I bout reckon.

Almost clean! Just using a cheap sponge and some warm water with dish soap to get the crud off. Hopefully I can get a drill buffer and finish the rest of the cleaning. Still a ways to go before I'm satisfied.

That's how they'll look. Lift not included. They seem to match the body silver much better than the stock "chrome" rims.

Those are the same wheels I am running on mine. Just a heads up, they have less back spacing then the stock ones, the front will stick out a good bit.

Badco 12-23-2013 09:45 PM

Thanks... I'll start keeping an eye out for ZR2 flares

Got me a set of 4x6 Scosche HDs for the dash. Clearance for like 19 bucks, and now I have sound from the dash!
