So the biggest news about this build is I'm saving for a jeep and idk what I'm doing with the blazer

What kind of resin are you using, Otho, Iso? Any DMA with the catalyst I see the modified pillars covered in a light weight cloth, what you laying up under that, matt. Finish with matt and veil? How many layers? Brush it? Rollers? Both? Curious?

I'm using normal 3m resn and normal Mekp
No Dma
I used spandex pulled tight then I layed the mat ontop I do about 5 layers usually and I use a brush

Could you elaborate on the spandex material. Your not meaning the clothing? Is this a type of layup material or does it have a trade name?

Yes spandex the clothes I pull them tight ca glue it how I want layer the resin let them dry then I lay mate I do about 5 layers depending on the shape and how thick I want then I do a first trim then sand sand sand trim bondo sand sand sand then paint and I was going to post this part I hate the 3m but I had some left over I like the us composites resin that's ****a legit

Why the spandex first and not Matt only? Hot glue spandex to backside and any openings of mold? Wax or PVA for a mold release? If the spandex is pulled tight between say two ridges on mold when you apply resin does the spandex lay down in the valley between ridges? No problem with resin melting a hole through spandex ? Great work! Impressive mods!!! Hope I'm not pestering too much! Not electrically inclined but the dash LEDs are tempting me!!!

Sorry if I forget anything im a lill drunk
In order
1.spandex gets my shape I want
2.nah the resin doesn't lay in the low spots I set it up a lill hot
3.nope no melting of the spandex and tbh it was the first time using spandex I usually use fleece for pods like those Tahoe pods in those pics
4.this isn't a mold so need for wax I did do that before off those pods for the Tahoe
5. Thanks man I'm still a noob so I try Im certified mecp for 12v but that dosnet teach you fabrication
6.led mod was pretty easy on the cluster the switches were harder but a dremel and ca glue and solder iron its easy

Thanks for the info really gave me some ideas. Right now I'm in Quesnel B.C. working installing all the glass pipinging at brand new R-8 building for Caribou pulp and paper. Ends at end of month. So see about grabbing 5-10 gal. Unpromoted resin and the scrap roving, matt, veil, ect. Job finally ends at end of month and I can go home.Have a 5" suspension lift waiting to be installed. Then a whole wack of interior glass mods. While back bought an AutoMeter pillar with 2 places for gauges. Cheap plastic,70$, Lordco. Might make a mold off it and sell a few off. Not into paying thick for plastic or bubble gum rings. Lol thanks for lighting the lightbulb!!!! :-D
