Twip's 98 Blazer slo-mo build

Hey guys and gals,

i decided to start a build thread even though i dont plan on doing a whole bunch of off the wall stuff...

anyway, lets get in to it!

what i have done so far:

LEDs in and out. all the brake lights and turn signals, foot well, map and dome lights all in white. swapped out the flasher module. tailgate led strip. (stop, turn, tail, and reverse)
Removed the tape deck and trim ring. (soon to have a red LED light to find stuff easier) Simple sound system, HU, sub and amp in the back. an old alpine V12 putting out 595 watts. a JL Audio 3v3 10" in a ported box.
new shocks all around, just some basic Monroe Sensa-Trac.
WeatherTec Digital Fit floor mats front and second row.

and to round it out right now, just painted the front Bowtie. pics to come.

what i plan on doing:

Dash and door speakers
Window tint and visor
HIDs
Custom center console with rear 12v plugs and switches for rear heated seats.
Roof basket (thinking a MOAB if i can find one for a good price, or build one)
Put the spare up in the basket with studs to keep it there
On-board air and maybe a train horn....

i will have to get a picture of everything installed as in the tail lights and led bar and front blinkers and the dome lights. but i think that you get the idea.

time to get out the book and see what it take to replace the front shocks and then time to get started.

Lifted Bailey today!!
put an AAL in the rear and turn the keys an inch in the front. the AAL added about 2 1/2 inches. so i am sitting about an 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 higher in the back. IT LOOKS SO BAD ASS!! i know i sound a little cheesy but, this is the first time that i have ever had anything higher than stock. she is going to be going to the alignment shop in the next day or two to keep from killing my new tires.
i also fixed my trailer plug and i will have pictures up tomorrow of it sitting a little higher and where i relocated my trailer plug. i guess i got tired of tearing it off and having to buy a new one every time i went 4 wheeling. thats it for now!

and out on the trail with some buddies.

and after the lift sitting in my driveway. i picked up about 3 inches in the back, and i did about an inch or so in the front.

https://blazerforum.com/forum/attach...ine=1370389139

and this is where i relocated my trailer plug. the rear of the blazer is at the bottom of the picture. its on the driver side.

i just need to clean up the couple of zip ties and make up an extension so that i can hook up the trailer.

so i ask, good idea? or bad idea?

Not a bad idea but it looks like you will have to lay on the ground to plug in the trailer. Why not just drill a hole and mount it nicely next to the license plate?

Nice lookin blazer. If you are looking for some decent trails go down closer to Ocean Side/ Dana Point go a little south past them right before the big marine base. Pretty decent trails and some sand to play in.

i thought about that, but once i looked into in further, i would have to drill through the bumper, and then there is a plate behind the bumper that i would have to go through as well. basically i saw it as having to buy 3 or 4 hole saws to get the job done. which was no big deal. but then i figured that i dont tow that much, in fact, only twice since i got the blazer back in Nov. '12. so it was a combination of ease and basically how often it gets used.
i do agree that it would look waaaaay better and more custom through the bumper, but i just didnt feel like putting the effort in to it when i dont use it enough.
