Pick at it!

Youngest brother asked for a rendering of a '67 Chevy Stepside. Going all out on this one - one lowered, one lifted. Still have a lot of details left, i.e. wheel shadows, grille, etc. Should I add a peep mirror near the roof, in the stock location, or something else?

Have at it, I want to hear everything. No hurt feelings here.

Here's the UPDATE so far.

He ended up wanting a phantom billet grille and a body color bumper. Just have to add the peep mirror and fix the shadow and the lowered one is done. Then have to make a lifted one...

I personally think the black bumper would look much nicer. But it definitely looks much better now.

TripleBlackBlazer 06-01-2011 08:53 PM

I agree and I made the executive decision to return the bumper back to black.

Here's the final: CLICK for fullsize

Do you think the rotors are too big? If it's an 18" wheel, the rotor looks to be about 4" above the lip of the rim, which would make it roughly a 10" rotor. If it's a 20" wheel, it would be a 12" rotor. Both of which would be realistic so maybe I'm worrying too much.

If that orange line is supposed to be the inner edge of the fenderwell seen through the wheel, then what about the inside of the rear bumper? If the 'camera/eye' is situated low enough to see that, I would think the bumper would be visible. IDK

Also the SHANE on the license plate looks 'off' but I can't pinpoint what looks wrong about it... I stretched it around some to try and make it appear more level with the top and bottom of the plates but I only made it worse.

Looks great though :D

Whoops... that's what I get for taking too long to reply lol. Your final picture looks great

TripleBlackBlazer 06-01-2011 09:18 PM

Yea, on the first one you posted I realized the rim wouldn't be that thin, especially since I dished it a bit. Perhaps I should do the same for the front. The rim wouldn't be that thin either.

mdehoogh 06-01-2011 09:27 PM

Wow I didn't even notice how narrow the tire/wheel looked

ChevyBlazerChick 06-02-2011 11:08 AM

I knew something funky was going on with the Wheels. I just couldn't figure it out. lol
