I wonder if it is glue on? Have you thought about taping the areas up and shooting it while it is still on?

It should just pop off. I'm pretty sure there are just plastic clips molded into the bottom of it that fit into hols in the metal part. If you stick a screwdriver or a prybar under it it should come off pretty easy

it does "pop off" however there are 16 little boogers that are damn near impossible to get to from the underside. You should be able to see maybe 2 or 3 of them in which case you can grab a set of long needle nose pliers to squeeze and back them out. From there you shoulld be able to pry it up. Carefully though, when cold the plastic is brittle and I have snapped off those tabs before.

Here are a few pictures for reference.

thank you for the pictures! very helpful. im afraid i might just wait til it gets warmer, because its snowing about a foot here and i cant catch a break on temperatures. im thinking of using bed liner spray. anyone else try that or anything else that worked?

I pull mine off each spring to clean the salt and grime. I wait for a warm day and just start at one corner an pull it up. Very easy...5 seconds

Glad I could help!! But yeah you might just want to wait for Spring. Warmer weather will make the whole process a lot easier.

I just taped mine off, scuffed up what I wanted to spray, applied and pulled the tape off. You'd think it was a professional job from looking at it. I've had a number of folks ask where I got it done and how much it cost.
