gear oil in carpet

I folded my rear seats down an unknowingly crushed a bottle of gear oil. There is a nice puddle soaked into my carpet behind my drivers seat. Any suggestions on how to remove the oil??

Try some simple green / the orange hand pumice soap.

Simple Green and a carpet shampoo'er. Preferrably one with a powered head on it. I have a Bissel little green machine that I use for cleaning the carpets in my vehicles. Works great, but wish I had a powered head on it for some of the dug in stuff.

Is gear oil too thick for the kitty litter trick to wick the oil part out of the carpet?

hit it with alot of degreaser then shampoo it. or if you dont have the stuff to do it, but some extractor, and apply it, brush it in, and shop vac it.

Simple green, or you can dilute some greased lightning and scrub into it.

ya if you don't dilute it, it can stain your carpet[:-]

To safely clean carpet, its a 1-10 ratio. 1 part GL, 10 parts water.
