Hard Water
 

So I just moved to an area with really hard water and was wondering what others have done to deal with this. Everything is covered with water spots. I know I can go to the car wash down the ways and they have water filtration systems so there are no spots, but who wants to pay up to $10 to do something you could do in your driveway? I was thinking about buying this Garden Hose Filters – Pure Water Products, LLC but I don't know how well it would work. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

I feel your pain. I've lived all across the country in the last 30 years and have hated the places with the hard water.

Thankfully, ever since I bought my blazer, I just let the rain do its job. Sorry, not much help.

Get a water blade or a shamy called the absorber. Since i shut my water softener off when i wash the blazer, the ranger which is black, or the wifes malibu i havent seen anywater spot left after drying them. I bought my absorber at wal mart years ago and it still works great and you can put them in the washer when the get real dirty.

I have a hose bib hooked up to the water softener. That helps out a lot no more water spots

I use Taste Pure RV Water Filter on my garden hose it works very well and lasts the whole summer I buy it at Walmart for $30

One trick I have found is to hope that the weather folks are correct with their predictions and wash your car/truck the day of or before it will rain and it washes most of the water spots away, all the ones that I can see or notice anyways. Hope this helps.

you can clay bar it i found works really good and it will smooth out the paint and make for a good waxs

there are the air dryers/ blowers , I have been known to use my gas powered leaf blower to dry off my bike and car LOL

i just wash it, keep it waxed with turtle wax ice, and as soon I'm done washing it i get the 200mph leaf blower out and dry it like that...people that pass probably think im an idiot but whatever black cars are a pain to clean as is haha
