removing ZR2 stickers
The ZR2 sticker on the right side is bubbled and cracked, whats the best way to remove these stickers with out devastating the paint under them?
I plan on replaceing them since the paint will not be faded under the stickers and might look a lil silly. |
RE: removing ZR2 stickers
i used bug and tar remover and a plastic scraper one mine and it worked great. after you get it off there will be some residual sticker left and i just hit it with soap and water and more bug and tar remover and repeated that until it was all the way gone. just be sure to keep it as clean as possible and to scrap at it and not rub it in more. hope this helps!

RE: removing ZR2 stickers
you can probably just peel them off... the dealer sticker on minve was vinyl and i was able to peel it right off.
depending on the color, it might not be faded that badly. i took off the CHEVROLET badge off the back of mine and you can only see the faded edges when you look closely. |
RE: removing ZR2 stickers
There is also sticker shock which takes off the glue and sticker, and it doesn't hurt the paint. I have used it debadging cars and trucks for people.

RE: removing ZR2 stickers
Use a hair dryer to warm up the sticker, then use a plastic scraper to lift an edge of the sticker. Use some goo-gone to remove the adhesive residue, then wash with dawn dish soap.

RE: removing ZR2 stickers
agreed with swart. Use a hair dryer or heat gun to get it soft. it should peel right off. The glue can be the hard part. You can try with goo gone ect. I know bulldog makes this thing called paint cleaner XXX. that will do the trick real fast. You can also wipe it with some paint thinner *no it will not hurt your clear coat* as long as you don't soak it on there forever. You can also try mineral spirits with a little elbow grease
