Rust spot intervention
 

Heyo. Got an '04 a couple weeks ago, it's got some dings off the paint on the front end. I figured I should do something about it before they start to get too large, rusty, and funky looking. I'm looking for a cheap, clean looking solution.

Palm sander, white rustoleum spray paint, and about 4 hours :)

I know you want to do all that soon, so I will look into the materials we need, as well as what stuff we have here at work. I know we have compressors and a spray gun (not sure if it's the right one) and plenty of other things. All we will need is a day off haha and a tent of sorts. Oh and paint and such.

That is if these methods sound good to you. I trust slc in his response, his was just a simplified version of that link. Basically the same idea, sand down, fix rust, repaint.

Ill call a couple of GM dealers out here in FoCo and see what it would cost for a bit of paint in both of our colors.

This may seem like a lot of work, but to really stop it, while its still fresh,
sand it all off, all that you can, then clean it real well and spray it with a good rust prevention primer.
Once that is done,
spray it with a self etching primer.
Then hit up Touch Up Paint and Accessories | AutomotiveTouchup and get the paint color of your truck (it matches perfect, i have used it on the jimmy)
and spray your bumper with that,
follow it with a good clear coat

Maybe stay back from Sanding trucks and Not tailgate....

Other than that i think i would just sand it down, tap out whatever dents maybe some bondo, sand n smooth and then repaint with a can of glossy spray paint... and maybe a clear coat as well?
