89 350 TBI how to bypass smog pump?

I have an 89 Blazer with a 350 TBI motor that I just had rebuilt to a 383. I am putting on a Edelbrock manifold and Holley Tbi upgrade as well as some Stainless steel headers. Since these headers don't have ports for the emission lines I was planning drill holes where the lines attatch on stock manifold and weld on coresponding stainless nuts to thred lines into. I would prefer to rid the engine of the smog pump, these lines and related parts. If so what do I do with the wires that go to this system? They look like they may go to the computer and will that affect the performance of the vehicle if left disconnected? Also if I rid the Smog Pump what do I do about the pulley that goes there? Someone help me.

I will first note that depending on your location and the inspection laws, removing the AIR system may void your inspection and cause further failures down the road. Not to mention that it is against Federal law to remove an emissions system.

It will not affect the operation of your motor if removed. If you still have a stock style catalytic converter, it may impact your converter life. You may have to have the EPROM tuned to remove the codes for the AIR system, but you should probably be having it tuned for the rest of the upgrades you are making to the system anyway.

As far as the pulley goes, just get a shorter belt.
