CNG/propane conversion?

I was reading how it is 70% better for the engine or something?

How about the mileage?

Conversion kit?

Could I just use the gas from my house to fill the tank up?

It does burn a lot cleaner with less emissions but it also burns a lot hotter witch can cause your cat to melt and seals to fail my buddy works for a airport shuttle co. and all of their vans are cng he tells me if they are not done right it can be a big head ache

also i dont think you would be able to fill it from the lines on your house maybe you could if you could buy and install the necessary filler attachments and i think you need to be certified or have a license or something to fill cng or propane tanks

LPG (propane) conversions are very popular in Europe.
You get basically a second fuel system installed with a propane tank instead of the spare wheel under the truck. You can still drive on gas and switch to propane. MPGs are usually 20-30% less, but with the gas prices where they are now you still save 30+% in money.

I wonder how much a conversion would cost?
I bet that it would clean out the engine.
Kind of scary in a wreck but I guess a regular gas tank is too.

Complete conversion runs ~3k$ fitted and inspected. I've seen far more gas tanks leaking after a wreck than LPG systems. Even in a fire the propane burns out controlled via a security valve.

I would assume you could probably buy a tank as strong as a CNG tank or something similar those tanks are almost indestructible look up the strength tests on youtube.

The HHO conversion kit is a lot better in the long run. It actually boots 91 octane premium to about 104 and also cleans your cylinders are you run your car. message me back for more details.

ive seen older Hyster forklifts vortec 4.3 run propane there pretty good maybe you could find a motor or intake from one.

your right but I dont think you would want to put that engine into a road car I think they red line around 3000-3500 I bet it would be cool in a rock crawler

if your serious about doing this id go with a propane conversion they are cheaper than cng mostly because you dont need to buy a $1500-$3000 cng tank. also some are even bi-fuel so you can switch from propane to gas while driving down the road. although i dont think they make them for fuel injected engines only carbs. do a google search on "impco" should give you more info
