diesel blazer

I had a 2000 chevy blazer 4.3l 4x4 and really liked it. sadly i had to move on to a different car. I am thinking about getting another one for a project and turning it into a diesel i know they made a 2.2l diesel engine around early 1990's, but i want a more then 90 hp, and an engine that lasted longer than a year. has anybody tried this and been successful. what body style would have the most engine capacity. and what are some good powerful engines that would fit the body without super mods. thanks

A diesel S10 Blazer, that would be awesome. Here's something to drool over lol...

A guy on the ZR2 site did a 4bt Cummins engine into his 2nd gen, and a guy on S10 forum did a duramax into his first gen. Neither were easy swaps. Both are sas trucks, both required enormous amounts of fab.

Hate hate hate that front end on the TDI, but the idea of a diesel in a blazer/jimmy, that'd be awesome. I'd like to see the 2.8L swapped in someday.

I know out in Thailand and Brazil they got the Trailblazer still and its offered in both 2.5 and 2.8 flavors

1998 Chevy S-10 4BTA Cummins Diesel

4BTA in an S-10...did require solid axles and a lift kit.

One of my uncles had a '99 Blazer with the 2.5L Diesel which was available prior to the 2.8L MWM.
