same problem. seems like comp. not going into open loop for extra fuel

hi. what is comp and its function of open loop?

When the engine is cold, it runs in open loop which means that it is running more off of a predetermined set of variables instead of off actual sensor information. I wouldn't worry too much about that though as it likely doesn't have a thing to do with your problem. There would have to be A LOT of other problems with the PCM for that.

So lets start off with some general questions.
When was the last time a tune up was done (plugs, wires, cap, & rotor)?
Is the check engine light on and if so, what are the stored codes?
Have you done any other routine preventative maintenance (clean EGR, MAF, throttle body, and/or IAC valve - take a look in the Tech Article DIY Index link in my signature for how-to's on these)?
