heads and cam LS1 in an 02 Blazer Xtreme
So this has been an ongoing project for awhile and its starting to kind of come to a close well atleast i hope. I got started on this project a little over a year ago and when i started i thought i'd just put the stock motor in there and southern engineer some stuff and i'd be back on the road well $8,000 later i'm finally starting to see the light of dayi only need 3 or 4 grand and she'll be done. here are some pics some were off my phone so i appologize for the lack of quality of some.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...low_dc_0-1.jpg here she is before i did anything to her http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...021/XTREME.jpg this was where i started to kind of change direction i had the motor in there with the new LS2 oil pan off of a corvette and i had already done some stuff that i didn't like the A/C box had clearance issues the steering shaft had issues the crossmember had clearance issues with the pan and i had kinda done some nice stuff but over all i was very unpleased with how it was looking. One day as i was sitting there looking at the motor all sweaty and hot as hell it was like 90 or so outside and i just said i won't be happy with this if i don't do this right so i started getting a list of things i wanted and things that i needed totaled out to be over 10,000 dollars so i said i'll find a way to get this done. So i bought -Current performance wiring harness custom made all brand new for the swap http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...26-08_0050.jpg Sent jared at Current performance my computer http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...26-08_0051.jpg bought swap headers from him http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...26-08_0056.jpg got a delphi MAF sensor and LS2 dipstick and dipstick tube http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...26-08_0053.jpg the swap mounts i bought http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...1/LS1S10-1.jpg The heads and cam package i bought from Texas Speed and Performance http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...ssories003.jpg Then i bought the LS2 corvette front drive accessories from GM http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...ssories001.jpg The MLS head gaskets i bought http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...ssories002.jpg I'll keep everything up dated i still need http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2..._productG1.gif http://racetransmissions.com/store/i...rProductG3.jpg http://www.currentperformance.com/Sw...d/Complete.jpg http://www.b2btrade.biz/images2/img48959ad36df5b.jpg I hope to have more updates soon |

I wonder if this could be done on a 4wd model. I have just started researching it so I'm not able to say weither or not it should/could.
My 4.3 has close to 150k and runs fine as of now....But I'd like to have a back up plan. Any thoughts? Pm me if you don't mind. Thanks Rich |

There is a guy in MI that put an LS1 in, didn't think that was enough power so dropped an LS2 in a ZR2, though it was a truck and not a blazer. He also swapped out the IFS from a 1/2 ton.
So, yes, it can be done. |
